This home reflects the clients desire for an open floor plan and loft-style living. The project consists of four bedrooms, five full and one-half bathrooms, lounge space, media room and roof deck. The two-story living room opens to the dining room and kitchen neatly organized under a canopy of custom-built timber trusses. A section of the ceiling lifts away from the structure to reveal a strip of clerestory windows that bring natural daylight into the kitchen. The straightforwardness of traditional architectural elements such as the structural wood trusses and placement of the over-sized windows at the perimeter are indicative of a minimalist approach to the over-all design.
