The success of the new 72 and Sunny (Creative Studio and Offices) will be attributed to the way in which the architecture fuses the programmatic need for a coherent and rationally organized multi-media production studio with the more difficult-to-define elements of a dynamic and energetic creative environment. The historical contect of the pre-existing building envelope was a driving force in developing the aesthetic for the interior architecture. The ridig and rhythmic steel structure of the former Administrative Building for Highes Aircraft (which included the wood paneled office of Howard Hughes himself) is complemented with a carefully composed series of iconic interior spaces which feature an array of natural materials and subdued color pallete. The interior environment respectfully promotes the work of 72 and Sunny by allowing for a dynamic exhibition of their creative work process...
