GumGum set out to create a new innovative headquarters and found a property located in the heart of Santa Monica's Media District. It's adjacent to the Bergamont Metro Station and surrounded by art galleries and restaurants. The existing building was an underutilized industrial building repurposed and converted to retail and creative office space. As part of the build-out, we were tasked to create and develop consistent branding for the LA office, that would be applied to future national and international offices. The space has an exposed steel structure, wood accents, steel windows, and skylights providing a vast amount of natural light. We programmed the space to include multiple desking options, support spaces, and break out area options for staff. Taking advantage of the natural light, we incorporated a series of planters and greenscape throughout. Creating additional privacy and blurring the lines between the interior and exterior planting. Materials and furnishings were selected to create a warm and inviting space with a residential character opposed to the traditional corporate environment.
